Whether you’re searching for the perfect long walk along the beach, or want to catch some waves to practice your surfing skills, Jacksonville and its surrounding areas will have a beach (or three) for you. So we thought we’d round up some of the best beaches in and around the city to hopefully inspire your next beach day!
1. Neptune Beach
Where: Neptune Beach, Jacksonville
Undisputedly a favorite among locals, Neptune Beach solidifies itself on this list due to its tranquil vibes and continuously acknowledged beauty. Expect surfers, fishers, and families at this Floridian gem. Make sure to visit during sunset for one of the best views in Jacksonville!
2. Talbot State Park
Where: Little Talbot Island
Both Little Talbot Island State Park and Big Talbot Island State Park boast unbeatable beaches that could occupy a week-long staycation! Get lost in the natural beauty of North Florida on one (or several) of their stunning hikes. Located in between Jacksonville and Amelia Island, make sure to visit the Boneyard Beach, with all of its mystical dead trees and driftwood.
3. Ponte Vedra
Where: St. Johns County
Nicknamed San Pablo Island, this Floridan gem is located 18 miles southeast of downtown Jacksonville. Sunbathers, swimmers, surfers, and other beach-goers unite at this absolutely breathtaking beach.
4. Fernandina Beach
Where: Fernandina Beach
Why not head to Fernandina Beach for your next day out by the sea? With incredible picnic spots and plenty of shells for shark’s teeth hunting, all that’s missing is you. You can even drive onto the beach and park up at your favorite spot.
5. Atlantic Beach
Where: Atlantic Beach, Jacksonville
For miles of laid-back coastline, head to Atlantic Beach. This seaside community prides itself for its immaculate beach. Which is part of the three epic beaches along the Jacksonville coast, including Neptune Beach and Jacksonville Beach.
6. Huguenot State Park
Where: Jacksonville
This seaside park has so many fun things to do, but you can’t visit without a stroll on the beach. With 70 campground sites, it’s the perfect place to set up camp, and spend a weekend with direct access to the beach.
7. Jacksonville Beach
Where: Jacksonville
How could we do a round-up and not include our very own Jacksonville Beach. Take a stroll along the pier, sunbathe on the endless beach, or take a dip in the refreshing water.
