The two bailaor and bailaora (dancers) will transport you back to Spain with every toss of the traje de flamenca (flamenco dresses) and clap of the hands. Let the Spanish guitar guide you through the sung story of the cantante (singer) and simply savor the moment. Adding bright red roses and special effects, the show aims to create a slice of Spain right here in your city.
Flamenco, its palos and the show
It’s believed that flamenco was born out of a blending of cultures within Andalusia over the past few centuries, with influences from Jewish, Muslim and Gypsy communities. “We Call It Flamenco” will take you through a number of its most famous palos, which are the different styles or varieties of the art form each expressing different emotional states.
First starting with the mother of flamenco dances, the fandango de Huelva, followed by the mischievous bulerías, the hypnotizing cantiñas from Cádiz, and the joyous soleá por bulerías, audiences will be taken on a musical journey through six different acts.
